Position Description

Heart Failure ICU Nurse Practitioner – Full Time (Nights)

Houston, TX | 3x12s Night Shift | No Call

Join a nationally ranked heart and vascular program based in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. This ICU-level role supports complex, high-acuity cardiac patients, including those on ECMO, MCS, and post-transplant. Work alongside a collaborative team of intensivists, surgeons, and advanced practice providers in a cutting-edge environment.

Position Highlights:

  • Care for patients with advanced heart failure, post-op cardiac surgery, transplant, LVAD, and ECMO
  • Round in a highly specialized ICU with physician and APP support
  • No call required | Rotating weekends/holidays
  • Shift bonuses available for additional shifts
  • EPIC EMR in a 160,000 sq ft facility with 5 CV ORs and 5 cath/EP labs

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Must be an AGACNP (MSN or equivalent)
  • New NPs must have 2–3 years of RN experience in cardiac critical care (e.g., CVICU)
  • Experienced NPs should have prior ICU-level or heart failure/cardiac care experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
  • Passion for high-acuity, team-based care

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $135,200 – $147,680 base salary (plus 8% geographic differential for TMC)
  • Shift bonuses for picking up extra shifts
  • Relocation assistance considered case by case
