Perspectives on Nursing From the Black Community Virtual Panel Discussion June 25, 6 pm CST

Posted about 5 years ago by DIANNE LAVIN

The world is experiencing an unprecedented time on several fronts: the COVID-19 pandemic, economic recession and attention to racism sparked by the recent murder of a black man. While we are all deeply troubled by these events, many of us cannot begin to appreciate the experience of those who are black, though we seek to understand and support our black colleagues during this time.

In that spirit, TNA is hosting a panel of black nurses in Texas from different areas in the state who serve in diverse roles to talk about their experiences. We will discuss race, racism, nursing ethics and the experience of being black in America. We hope that the panel will help bring nurses together in solidarity around that which binds us together and help us join together in support of one another. We invite everyone to listen and come together to fight for the health of all Texans.
