Happy Nurse Practitioners Week!
Posted almost 2 years ago by Amy Owens Horelica
In a summarized statement made by TNP President Erin Perez, patients in Texas have long entrusted nurse practitioners to deliver safe and effective care, with over 40,000 practitioners forming a robust community in Texas. Nurse Practitioners play a pivotal role on the front lines, bridging gaps in care during shortages and navigating regulatory challenges. The positive impact of their dedicated work is evident in every patient visit. While policymakers grapple with rising costs and seek ways to enhance access to care, our Texas NPs are prepared to contribute. Easing unnecessarily restrictive regulations can empower us and pave the way to improved access to care. We at PAPN Texas, take this week and every week to recognize and applaud the substantial contributions of PMHAPRNs (PMHCNS and PMHNP) in mental health care. Their ongoing efforts to eliminate practice barriers are one of the many highlights of efforts to increase care for all Texans.
